Well, hello again! This week I'm practising Present Continuous and Present Perfect Continuous with my students. The speaking task I'm posting today, has proven to be quite effective.
Target Language 1: Take after somebody
Target Language 2: Job/work related activities
Target Language 3: Present Continuous
Target Language 4: Present Perfect Continuous
Target Language 5: Crave to do something
Task for Speaker A:
Whom did these people take after? What are they doing now? How long have they been doing this? What do they crave to achieve professionally?
Task for Speaker B: Any extra question
Example:
Mary - mom (fashion designer)
Speaker A: Mary took after her mom. Now she's developing her own jeans brand. She's been developing this brand for a couple of years. Professionally, she craves to take part in the next NY fashion week.
Speaker B: Extra question (e.g. Have you ever visited a fashion week?)
LET'S GO!
Alex - dad (goldsmith) Linda - mom (teacher) Lisa - dad (architect)
Jessica - mom (lawyer) John - dad (e-tailer) Lucy - dad (film director)
Mike - mom (musician) Claire - mom (actress) Phil - dad (chef)
Mike - dad (TV host) David - mom (reporter) Paul - mom & dad (farmers)
Looking forward to getting your feedback on this activity in your class!
Yours,
YK xo
