Good new Monday, everyone!

I am craving to start this working week with a fresh post. And today I am going to share the exercise, which I developed and tried with my adult students last week. It went really well!

LEVEL: Pre-Intermediate and above

Task. In each line there are two people with the same profession/occupation/social role. Imagine that one of them helped you (helped you out), while the other caused some problem (did harm). Finish the sentences in all the possible ways.

Example:

Bernard (an English teacher) / Emma (an English teacher)

Thanks to Bernard, … (e.g. I passed two international exams) (e.g. I can speak English much better now)

Because of Emma, … (e.g. I think my pronunciation has become worse)

LET’S START!

Edward (my neighbour) / Ray (my neighbour)

James (a photographer) / Jane (a photographer)

Peter (a trainer) / Samantha (a trainer)

David (a tailor) / Vicky (a tailor)

Philip (a tour guide) / Maria (a tour guide)

Collin (my colleague) / Bella (my colleague)

Tom (a travel agent) / Laura (a travel agent)

Robert (my close friend) / Keith (my close friend)

Enjoy your lessons!

Yours,

YK xo
