Hello to all my readers! Thank you so much for your interest in my teaching blog. My previous post had very pleasant feedback. I received very nice e-mails and personal messages on Facebook. Therefore, I decided to proceed with the selected topic "Work/Job/Everyday Life Related Activities" as it turns out to be a popular one.
Here's a new activity I developed a couple of days ago.
LEVEL: PRE-INTERMEDIATE AND ABOVE
Task for Speaker 1.
Say: What problem/situation you had (or what you wanted to do) and when
Say: Whom you turned for help/advice to
Say: How this person helped you
Task for Speaker 2: Ask an extra question to the situation
Example:
Alice (a doctor)
Speaker 1:. Last month I had a sore throat. So I turned to Alice for help. She prescribed me some pills.
Speaker 2:. Extra question (e.g. How did you find Alice?)
LET'S START!
Amanda (a tailor)
Jim (a psychologist)
Daniel (a private English tutor)
Bob (a mechanic)
Nick (a carpenter)
Julia (a designer)
Betty (a travel agent)
Erick (a restaurant owner)
Jim (an acquaintance)
Kate (a colleague)
POSSIBLE ANSWER FOR (AMANDA)
Speaker 1.: Last week I bought trousers but they were a bit long. So I turned to Amanda for help. She trimmed them.
Speaker 2: Where did you buy the trousers?
Speaker 1: I bought them in a new shopping mall.
Wishing you an interesting lesson with this activity!
Yours,
YK xo
