Hi everybody!
I am ready to share a new speaking exercise (in 2 parts) where you or you students can practise work/job related vocabulary, which I presented in a few of my previous posts.
LEVEL: Pre-Intermediate and above
Task 1. Say where these people work or what companies they run/own. Ask how much it is to do something at their place.
Example:
Michael (stylist)
Student: I know that Michael works at (runs) a beauty centre. How much is it to trim hair there? /How much does it cost to cut hair there?
Peter (lawyer) - Amanda (English teacher) - Tom (a travel agent)
Betty (a tour guide) - Jim ( a mechanic) - Laura (an estate agent)
Sam (a photographer) - Ray ( a shop-assistant) - Rick ( a goldsmith)
Chuck (an e-tailer) - Eva ( a vet) - Melissa ( a doctor) - Larry ( a carpenter)
Matthew (a web-designer) - Fred (a trainer/a sportsman) - James (rector)/principal
Task 2. Say why you can vouch for these people. What great things can they do?
Example:
Michael (stylist)
Student: I can vouch for Mike, because he always gives the best advice about my look.
Best of luck!
Yours,
YK xo
