Welcome back to my blog, everyone!

Let me show you a new activity which can be a good way to lead in the topic "Relations and Relationships" as well as to introduce you or your leaners to some topic based vocabulary. I came up with this idea only a few days ago and my students fell in love with it at once.

LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE - ADVANCED

Target Language 1: Mum's the word (means "don't tell anyone, it's a secret")

Target Language 2: Vocabulary connected with "Relations and Relationships".

Task. Make up mini-dialogues : Mum’s the word!

Example:

Speaker A: How does Jim want to propose to Helen?

Speaker B: (Give a possible answer)* But mum's the word!

* Possible answer: He wants to ask her to travel in a hot air balloon. He will propose to her there. But mum's the word!

________________________________________________________________

Speaker A:

1. Why does Alice hate Rose’s guts?

2. Why did Nancy send Brian packing?

3. How does Michael want to make up with Kelly?

4. How will Cruze and Jina name their son?

5. How did Dora’s date go?

6. Whom does Chuck have a crush on?

7. Why didn’t Bill give John the time of day yesterday?

8. Who changed David’s mind to be footloose and fancy free?

9. What will Phil give Rose as a gift for their 10th wedding anniversary?

10. With whom did Andy cohabit before Laura?

I appreciate it so much for your feedback which I get on Facebook all the time. Thank you so much! Let me know how this activity goes in your class!

Yours,

YK xo
