I have a spare minute to share my new exercise for Upper-Intermediate adult students with you.
Target Language 1: Expressions which describe our interests
Target Language 2: Activities related to different spheres of life
Target Language 3: Present Simple
Target Language 4: Present Perfect Continuous
Task. Make up mini-dialogues.
Expressions describing interests:
- to be hooked on - to be into - to be keen on - to be nuts about - to be mad about
In this exercise you also need to think of possible types of activities for each sphere of interest/life
Example:
A: Mike is hooked on business courses. He takes business courses every month.
B: How long/since what age has he been taking business courses?
A: He has been taking business courses for 2 years.

B: How long has he been doing karate?
A: He has been doing karate since 2000.
Possible activities (handicraft - to knit; gardening - to plant flowers; video games - to play; foreign languages - to take language courses; travelling and cultures - to visit foreign countries; ancient history - to read historical books; popular series - to watch; gambling games - to bet on ...; Art - to paint landscapes; fishing - to go; computer programming - to develop programs for ...; architecture - to design ...)
