Warm welcome to everyone following my educational blog posts!
This time I have prepared the following pre-intermediate adult classroom speaking exercise practising Present, Past, and Future Simple:
Task for Speaker 1: Read one statement aloud.
Task for Speaker 2: Ask Speaker 2 about a possible reason. Don't use "why".
Task for Speaker 1: Answer providing another reason
Example:
Speaker 1: I didn't pass the driving test last week.
Speaker 2: Did you make any mistakes in the paper part? (possible reason)
Speaker 1: No, I didn't. I forgot to fasten my seat belt. (answer with another reason)
Statements for Speaker 1:
1. I sold my car not long time ago.
2. The hotel where we stayed was awful!
3. My best friend took a big loan in a bank.
4. I want to change my job next year.
5. I am not likely to go on holiday this summer.
6. I decided to take a Japanese language course.
Again, I do hope, you will have much fun doing this one with your students of English!
Yours,
YK
