Hello my dear readers!

This is one of my favourite self-made exercises (which I published in a grammar book) to help practise three Target Languages at the same time:

1) Present Simple; 2) names of everyday life habits and activities; 3) adverbs of time.

LEVEL: ELEMENTARY OR PRE-INTERMEDIATE

TASK: LOOK AT THE LIST BELOW AND MAKE UP TRUE SENTENCES ABOUT YOURSELF USING THE EXAMPLE:

I need to ... (every day, once a week, twice a month, etc.)

But, as a rule, I do it (every other day, three times a week, once a year, etc.)

  • to have an early night

  • to work out

  • to take vitamins

  • to have get-togethers (with friends, relatives, colleagues)

  • to spend time in the country

  • to do a medical check-up

  • to take a nap in the afternoon

  • to eat out

  • to go abroad for a holiday

  • to go on a business trip

  • to watch (educational programs, reality shows)

  • to be in the know of world news

  • to do charity work

  • to go shopping for clothes

  • to do house work

  • to visit a theatre

  • to attend (mass events, business seminars)

  • to walk

  • to have solitude

  • to use social networks

  • etc

* This activity is not presented in full here. But I hope it can help you add your own activities to this list in accordance with a language level!

Good luck with teaching and studying English!
